CBD Isolate
CBD isolate is CBD on its own, with the other cannabinoids, terpenes and plant compounds removed. This page brings together seven CBD tinctures from Serene Tree, Bottle & Tree and Cozzely: Orange Birch, Fresh Grove, Logn, Ro, Hearth, Campfire and Kindle. Shop the tinctures below and check each product page and COA for its formula.
What is CBD isolate?
Isolate is made by extracting CBD from hemp and refining it until the other cannabinoids, terpenes and plant compounds are gone. What is left is a white crystalline powder that is nearly all CBD. On its own it has little taste or smell, so it is often blended into a carrier oil to make a tincture.
It helps to know the three common formula types:
• Isolate: CBD only, with the other cannabinoids removed.
• Broad spectrum: CBD plus other hemp cannabinoids and terpenes, with THC removed or reduced to non-detectable levels.
• Full spectrum: CBD plus the full range of hemp compounds, including trace amounts of Delta-9 THC.
Why some people prefer isolate
• Just CBD: some shoppers want one cannabinoid and nothing else, so they know exactly what they are taking.
• Staying away from THC: isolate is the usual starting point for THC-free CBD, which matters to people who want to avoid THC entirely.
• Neutral taste: isolate has little flavor of its own, so the carrier oil and flavoring shape the taste.
• Simpler labels: with a single cannabinoid, a COA is quick to read.

• Cozzely: Hearth, Campfire (peppermint) and Kindle.

How to check a formula and use it
Open the product's results on our certificates of analysis page and look at the cannabinoid panel. In a true CBD isolate tincture, CBD should be the only cannabinoid listed at meaningful levels, and THC should show as ND, which means not detected. If other cannabinoids appear, the product is broad or full spectrum.
A CBD isolate oil is used like any tincture. Shake the bottle, place a few drops under your tongue for about a minute, or stir them into a drink. Start with a small serving and see how you feel before taking more.

CBD isolate FAQs
Does isolate contain THC?
A true isolate is refined to remove THC and the other cannabinoids, so its COA should show THC as not detected. Formulas vary, so check the COA for the specific product.
Can isolate cause a positive drug test?
Standard drug tests look for THC, not CBD. Pure isolate should not contain THC, but products can carry trace amounts and no store can promise a test result. If you are tested, read the COA closely before you buy.
Isolate or full spectrum: which should I pick?
Pick isolate if you want CBD and nothing else. Pick full spectrum if you are comfortable with trace THC and want the wider mix of hemp compounds. Effects vary from person to person.
Will isolate get me high?
No. CBD does not produce the high associated with THC.
